Machinery Maintenance Technician II
Location: Memphis, TN
Essential Job Responsibilities
Safely measure voltage, current, and power in AC and DC circuits.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot controls and electrical faults on machinery.
Perform basic wiring and understand wire gauges.
Apply basic knowledge of NEC/UL codes.
Use a computer and diagnostic software to identify electrical and automation problems.
Align, install, and maintain belt drives, pulleys, chain and sprocket drives, shaft assemblies, pillow block bearings, and couplings.
Install and replace motors.
Understand air and water systems.
Align, install, and maintain pneumatic lines and hoses; adjust and regulate pressures; check operation of water separator/drain.
Diagnose and repair compressors and vacuum pumps.
Maintain plumbing systems, including use of pipe threader and basic pipe fitting skills.
Understand and implement fluid contamination prevention processes.
Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic pumps, hoses, valves, cylinders, filters, regulators, and seals.
Apply basic welding knowledge, choose appropriate welding rods, and use safety equipment for MIG and TIG welding.
Perform all work on premises in a dusty factory environment subject to extreme heat and cold temperatures.
Work well in a team environment, providing problem‑solving backup as needed.
Work at heights exceeding 3 ft.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School diploma or GED required; additional education an advantage.
1–3 years of basic mechanical experience.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel) and ability to use preventive maintenance software.
Experience with equipment controls and basic knowledge of NESC, UL/ETL codes.
Preferred certifications: current material handling, Lock Out/Tag Out, Lifting & Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance, or journeyman/trades licensing.
Certifications and Skills
Vo-Tech certificate in any skilled maintenance trade (Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, Sheet Metal).
Associates degree preferred.
Success in evaluating corrective maintenance/repair and completing designated maintenance education programs.
