Base pay range $79,880 /yr - $136,340 /yr
Job Description Evaluates and treats patients with disabilities, injuries and/or disease in accordance with the written and signed prescription and/or referral of a state licensed physician or other state authorized practitioner.
Job Responsibilities
Administers direct patient care in accordance with the prescription of the referring physician or other state authorized practitioner.
Develops and implements treatment plans to improve gross and fine motor coordination, movement and function of upper extremities.
Submits required documentation according to department policies and procedures.
Utilizes thorough evaluation techniques to establish realistic goals; designs and implements a treatment plan that best meets patient needs and works toward achieving established goals.
Provides patient remediation in deficit areas to help achieve maximum functioning in daily life.
Reviews and arranges required Durable Medical Equipment (DME); instructs patients on usage and protocols for malfunction; recommends follow‑up care upon discharge.
Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
Treats patients with acute or developmental disabilities using methods including kinetic activities, perceptual training, and developmental sequencing.
Instructs patients and significant caregivers in daily living skills (tub transfers, dressing, feeding, household activities) to promote independence and self‑sufficiency.
Performs related duties as required. All responsibilities noted are essential functions under ADA; duties not mentioned but related are not essential functions.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current license to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State required; specialized certifications as needed.
3–5 years of relevant experience (average).
Additional salary detail: The salary range is a good‑faith determination and may be modified based on factors such as location, specialty, years of experience, education, credentials, contracts, budget, and internal equity.
