DACG, Inc.
About DACG, Inc.
DACG, Inc. is a growing general contractor (GC) based in Central Florida, focused on building high-quality projects for K–12 schools, public entities, and private owners. We self‑perform a variety of specialty scopes, including aluminum canopies, concrete flatwork and sidewalks, sports courts, and other site improvements. We are a tight‑knit team that values safety, quality, and collaboration. As we grow, we are investing in people who want to learn, take ownership, and build a long‑term career with us. Position Overview
The Estimator will develop accurate, timely estimates and proposals for canopy, specialty construction projects, and assist the pre‑construction manager with developing Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) proposals. This role is ideal for someone who understands how work is built in the field and wants to apply that knowledge in a technical, office‑based position. You will spend most of your time working at a computer, reviewing drawings, creating takeoffs, communicating with vendors and subcontractors, and preparing pricing. You will also visit client sites to understand their needs, gather measurements and details, and help shape solutions that work in the real world. Location
Full‑time, in‑office role based in Altamonte Springs, FL, with occasional travel to job sites and client locations in Central Florida. Key Responsibilities
Review plans, drawings, specifications, and site information to understand project scope and requirements. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted work. Develop material lists and work with suppliers to obtain pricing for aluminum canopies, concrete, and related components. Request, track, and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors. Prepare clear, accurate estimates and proposal documents using company software and templates. Visit client sites to gather field measurements, photos, and other information necessary for estimating. Coordinate with the Estimating Manager and Operations team to confirm constructability, phasing, and special conditions. Assist with value‑engineering options that balance quality, cost, and schedule. Maintain organized records of estimates, assumptions, and vendor/subcontractor quotes. Prepare and participate in turnover meetings with Operations to ensure a smooth handoff from estimating to project execution. What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction experience that demonstrates readiness for an estimating role. Strong interest in construction and how things are built, with the ability to think through the steps of installation. Comfortable working primarily at a computer and learning new software tools. English communication skills (spoken and written; able to write clear, professional emails). Organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to track multiple bids, deadlines, and follow‑ups. Self‑starter with a proactive mindset, comfortable working in a fast‑paced, changing environment, and taking ownership of deadlines and follow‑ups. Preferred Experience (Nice to have)
Experience installing or working with aluminum canopies, shade structures, or similar systems. Prior estimating experience in construction or specialty trades. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and basic details. Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or subcontractors to obtain pricing. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, Procore, or other construction/estimating tools. Coursework or training related to construction management, engineering, drafting, or a related field. Additional Requirements
Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Ability to successfully pass pre‑employment background screening and drug testing. Eligible to pass a Level 2 background screening and obtain a school district‑issued contractor badge, as required by the Jessica Lunsford Act (JLA). Must possess a valid driver’s license and meet insurability requirements under the company’s commercial auto policy, including passing a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. What We Offer
Full‑time, stable position with a growing Central Florida contractor. Hands‑on training and support from experienced estimators and operations leaders. Exposure to a wide range of projects. Competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time‑off policy, and paid holidays. Opportunity for professional growth and advancement as the company continues to expand. How to Apply
