Job Overview The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy seeks a Grant Administrator 2 to manage day‑to‑day grant administration tasks. The role reports to management and provides recommendations on process improvement, adheres to local, state, and federal regulations, and follows university financial and administrative policies. Major duties include administrative, fiscal, grant, and general responsibilities.
Essential Functions
Assist faculty, research staff, and students with processing financial transactions for federal, state, and private grants, contracts, and other external funding sources.
Handle post‑award duties: set up and manage award accounts for compliance, meet regularly with Principal Investigators for expense reporting, process reports and transactions including subcontract activities throughout the funded program lifecycle.
Implement policies that ensure all financial transactions comply with university policies and funding‑agency guidelines.
Advise faculty and research staff on financial management of sponsored projects, including subaward issuance.
Collaborate with various university offices to fulfill expenditure/compliance requirements and resolve complex issues throughout award duration.
Assist with proposal preparation and submission to external agencies, entering data into sponsor portals or attaching required files.
May act as a University Authorized Organizational Representative to submit proposals on behalf of the university when required.
Train entry‑level staff on compliance standards and UC financial systems.
Perform routine grant application work following standard principles and terminology of the field.
Provide recommended approaches and maintain effective relationships with peers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Offer feedback and recommendations to improve business operations.
Interpret information and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Other duties as assigned and perform related tasks based on departmental needs.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training may substitute for the education requirement.
Required Experience
Two (2) years of grant and/or finance‑related experience.
Knowledge of Uniform Guidance.
Additional Qualifications Considered
