Duties
Maintain parks, park facilities, and natural resource areas on a daily basis.
Operate and maintain a variety of tools, equipment, heavy machinery, vehicles, and power tools.
Assist in ensuring public safety and enforce park, county, and state rules.
Supervise seasonal employees and perform workplace inspections for safety.
Collect fees, draft reports, and assist with recordkeeping.
Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and light construction as needed.
Provide information to the public to ensure compliance with regulations.
Support park management in the absence of the Resource Manager or Assistant Resource Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Park Management, Natural Resources, or a related field with 1–3 years of experience in a related field.
Valid driver's license and Class A Iowa Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) obtainable within six months of hire.
Valid Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License, CPR certification, and basic first aid training.
S130, S190 Wildland Fire Training.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Arc View software.
Computer and record‑keeping skills.
Ability to plan, assign, and supervise seasonal employees.
Knowledge of park management principles, conservation board policies, and related administrative procedures.
Excellent communication, decision‑making, time‑management, and public‑relations skills.
Physical ability to lift 50–85 pounds, stand for extended periods, and operate heavy equipment in all weather conditions.
Background check, physical examination, vision/hearing screen, and drug screen required.
