$23.00/hr - $28.00/hr SUMMARY

Manufacture parts within a cell with multiple machines to exacting blueprint dimensions and ensure 100% part quality. Performs simple set-ups and tool changeovers on both manual and CNC turning / milling machining centers. Extend tool life while meeting production rates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and operate CNC horizontal milling machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using appropriate lifting equipment (cranes, hoists, forklifts) Verify machine settings, offsets, tooling, and program parameters prior to production runs Perform first‑article inspections and in‑process checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, CMM as required) Monitor machine operation to ensure quality, accuracy and adherence to tolerances Make minor program edits or offset adjustments as needed to maintain part quality Detect and report machining defects, tool wear or equipment malfunctions Change tools, replace inserts and maintain proper cutting conditions Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards Complete production documentation, inspection records and time tracking accurately Follow quality control procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives Perform basic preventative maintenance and daily machine checks Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers and quality personnel to resolve production issues Any additional duties as assigned by supervisor EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3+ years CNC Milling / Turning experience in a job shop environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings and routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to record process notes and document continuous improvement ideas. Must be able to clearly communicate with co‑workers and supervisor verbally. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve inspection problems drawing from one’s experience and develop new approaches. Must be able to correctly interpret GD&T on drawings and apply them to the manufacture and inspection of parts produced. INSPECTION SKILLS

Must be able to read a micrometer, drop indicator and vernier caliper. Should be able to utilize the optical comparator and profilometer. Complete 1st piece inspection reports as required per routing. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
