Open-Rank Faculty Position in Electrical, Computer, and Cybersecurity Engineering
Florida Polytechnic University invites applications for tenure-equivalent faculty positions in Electrical, Computer, and Cybersecurity Engineering at the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, or full professor to begin January 2026 or August 2026.
Job Description Summary Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Electrical, Computer, and Cybersecurity Engineering, as well as conducting research. Collegiality, active service, and participation in governance in accordance with the vision and mission of the University are also expected. While candidates with all research areas are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to individuals with teaching strengths and interests in the core areas of Electrical, Computer, and Cybersecurity Engineering.
The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Cybersecurity Engineering offers BS degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Cybersecurity Engineering with Automotive, Energy, and Robotics as focus areas. The department also offers an MS in Electrical Engineering. The department continues to grow its student body, research productivity, and successful partnerships with the Central Florida community.
Minimum Qualifications
Evidence of effective university-level teaching
Instructor: Master’s degree from an accredited institution and 18 credit hours in the discipline
Assistant Professor: Ph.D. in Electrical, Computer, and Cybersecurity Engineering or a closely related field earned before the start date
Associate Professor: Ph.D. earned before the start date; currently hold rank of Associate Professor or eligible to apply for Associate Professor at current institution
Full Professor: Ph.D. earned before the start date; six years of experience at the rank of Associate Professor or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
A commitment to excellence in teaching
The ability to establish/conduct outstanding research with tangible outcomes
Compensation Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and rank.
