Job Summary & Responsibilities The incumbent demonstrates competency in speech pathology for pediatric, adult, or geriatric patients as applicable for the site/level of care of employment. Provides patient assessments, develops and implements individual patient treatment programs, provides therapeutic interventions utilizing current and effective methodologies, and maintains effective documentation.
Evaluations are completed according to department protocol, within 48 hours after initiation.
Provides effective and adequate treatment; follows department guidelines; ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness; modifies goals and treatment as appropriate.
Patient/family education and training; demonstrates a variety of teaching methods suitable for the level of understanding.
Complies with department policy regarding documentation; records interventions, assessment, goal modifications, quality improvement indicators, interdisciplinary teamwork, and required logs.
Communicates and collaborates with team and MD; participates in conferences; addresses verification of payor guidelines/authorizations promptly.
Delegates and supervises support staff and students; provides clinical supervision and feedback; ensures appropriate use of staff within licensure and practice standards.
Time management in accordance with department productivity standards; initiates and completes projects as scheduled.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner.
Requirements
Previous experience as a speech pathologist preferred.
Current BLS certification required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities as specified.
Education
Graduate of an accredited school of Speech Pathology and current California State licensure.
MA/MS degree required.
Preferred
Previous experience as a speech pathologist.
Licensure
Speech Language Pathologist: CA (SLP:CA) within 6 months.
Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) within 12 months.
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) upon hire.

Dedicated to community well‑being, the staff provides excellent care and the center is recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery, and holds Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care, Hip‑ and Knee‑Replacement.
Pay Range $48.60 – $72.29 per hour.
