Position Summary Combining the strengths of Orlando Health and the high‑quality physicians at Watson Clinic, we are expanding access to award‑winning specialty care for patients in Polk County and beyond. The new seven‑story, multi‑specialty hospital will serve as a vital 550,000 sq‑ft healthcare hub offering:

300+ inpatient beds and 69 emergency/observation beds

11 operating rooms and four cardiac interventional suites

Dedicated labor, delivery, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

Comprehensive cardiovascular, neurology, and oncology services

Advanced surgical procedures

Opening Summer 2026 at 4000 Lakeland Highlands Road, Lakeland, FL.

Responsibilities

Utilize ambulatory care nursing knowledge to promote wellness, restore health, address situational problems and provide end‑of‑life care.

Assess patients’ needs and apply current evidence‑based practice to develop individualized plans of care.

Provide care appropriate to the patient’s age, applying knowledge of growth and development.

Prescribe, delegate, coordinate, and document patient care consistently and skillfully.

Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of unit equipment.

Prioritize care in accordance with Evidence‑Based Practice Standards of Care.

Identify and resolve problems effectively.

Delegate tasks to team members per patient needs and team qualifications.

Communicate patient condition or unit concerns to other health‑care team members.

Maintain a safe, caring environment for patients and families.

Integrate patient and family education into care delivery.

Participate in process‑improvement activities as assigned.

Maintain awareness of legal issues, patients’ rights, and regulatory standards.

Additional Functions

Contribute to the knowledge and skills of others and to continuous quality improvement.

Participate in unit or organizational committees, mentoring, and coaching.

Use supplies efficiently and keep the unit clean, safe, and organized.

Provide input into staff development, committees, research, and performance management.

Take responsibility for professional development and continuing education.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved school of nursing.

Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health.

Licensure & Certification

Current RN license in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact.

Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year experience unless approved by AVP level or above.
