Summary
The Cocktail Server will provide consistent, elegant, warm, and responsive service to all guests while taking and serving food and beverage orders. The server will be professional in their engagement with guests, displaying enthusiasm and knowledge about the menu and products. The role will be accountable for financial transactions and effectively market their assigned venue during shifts. Cocktail servers are encouraged to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others to reach business goals. A highly efficient and organized server with a stellar record of friendly and upbeat customer service, able to multitask effectively in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
Primary Job Duties
Greet and welcome all guests in a professional manner.
Obtain food and beverage orders and enter them into the point‑of‑sale system.
Ensure orders are accurate and delivered to each guest promptly.
Maintain clean and well‑stocked workstations.
Verify identification to ensure customers are of proper age to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Collaborate with bartenders and kitchen staff to ensure order accuracy.
Suggest items using suggestive selling techniques (e.g., daily specials, cocktails, wines, after‑dinner beverages).
Carry and push heavy trays and carts of glassware and items as directed by management.
Implement Resorts World core values and property and department standards.
Obtain and maintain position‑specific licensing.
Use personal device or cellular phone for job‑related operational tasks and to review company documents.
Pose for pictures as requested for promotional activities, appearing in uniform or designated apparel.
Perform other job‑related duties as requested.
Qualifications
Motivated, self‑starting personality.
Ability to work in stressful, loud, and high‑temperature environments.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
Knowledge of cocktail recipes, types of alcohol, and alternatives for customers with allergies or special requests.
Experience with POS and credit‑card systems.
Strong expertise in a variety of wines, beers, and hard liquor.
Proficient bottle‑service knowledge (wine, champagne, high‑end spirits).
Previous modeling experience.
Working knowledge of Forbes standards.
Availability for varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Effective communication in English.
Polished appearance and demeanor.
Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge of company and department rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Capacity to walk and stand for long hours.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in a cocktail or lounge server position in a similar or related field.
Experience in a large, luxury resort setting.
Minimum Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 21 years of age.
Knowledge of operational policies in health and safety, liquor licensing, food hygiene, and emergency procedure.
At least six months of previous customer‑service experience in a similar or related field.
At least six months of previous cash‑handling experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
Position‑required licenses.
Physical Demands
Tolerance to varying noise levels, temperatures, illumination, and air quality.
Prolonged walking/standing.
Bending and reaching.
Transporting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and maneuvering items weighing up to 10 lb.
