We are currently seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our dynamic Insurance Defense team. This role is a crucial part of our legal department, providing comprehensive support to attorneys in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation support, a deep understanding of the insurance industry, and a passion for detail‑oriented work.
Responsibilities
Assisting attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Conducting in‑depth legal research and analysis on various insurance defense matters.
Reviewing and summarizing medical records, depositions, and other case‑related documents.
Coordinating and managing timelines for various cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Organizing and maintaining case files, including managing electronic databases and physical records.
Assisting with trial preparation, including the creation of exhibits, witness preparation, and coordination of logistics.
Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts as necessary.
Providing administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and drafting correspondence.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within a high‑volume insurance defense setting.
A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved program or equivalent legal studies (nice to have).
Extensive experience in litigation support, with a thorough understanding of the litigation process and legal terminology.
Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, clients, and court personnel.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with legal case‑management software is a plus.
