Windows Administrator – Latham, NY

Pay: $70.89 per hour Job Duration: 30 months

The Windows Administrator will be responsible for the administration, management, security, and optimization of enterprise Windows Server and Active Directory environments within a public sector organization. This role requires deep expertise in Windows Server infrastructure, Active Directory design, Group Policy management, security hardening, scripting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting government environments with a strong focus on system reliability, security, and operational excellence.

Required Experience

7 years of administration and management experience with Windows Server infrastructure, including Windows Server 2016 or higher.

5 years of Active Directory design and administration experience beyond basic user creation and management.

3 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Group Policy Objects (GPOs).

3 years of feathers experience in Windows Server vulnerability management, patch management, security hardening, and compliance.

3 years of experience with PowerShell scripting for managing Windows Server and Active Directory objects and attributes.

3 years of experience working with LDAP, including schema customization, LDAP tools, and Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI).

2 years of experience supporting Windows Server and Active Directory environments within the public sector.

3 years of experience with Certificate Management or Certificate Authority (CA) administration.

3 years of experience using Varonis twor file system auditing and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure in a large enterprise environment.

Design, implement, and manage Active Directory architecture and organizational structures.

Develop, deploy, and maintain Group Policy configurations to enforce security and operational standards.

Perform vulnerability management, patching, and security hardening activities.

Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks.

Manage certificate services and PKI infrastructure.

Monitor and audit file systems using Varonis or equivalent tools.

Ensure compliance with public sector security and regulatory standards.
