TEACHER STARTING SALARY IS $48,700. Additional Referendum money is available for the next four years starting at $7,730 for the 25-26 school year; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.

Job Summary Implements the Duval County Code of Student Conduct at the school level. Problem solves with students, parents, and teachers regarding disciplinary issues. Supervises attendance procedures and student conduct. Plans and implements programs and procedures for the elimination of disciplinary problems.

Essential Functions

Administers appropriate disciplinary actions as outlined in the Code of Student Conduct, which often necessitates the counsel of students and the contact of students' homes.

Ensures that the Code of Student Conduct is disseminated and explained to all students, teachers and parents.

Conducts Code of Conduct training for all school employees.

Develops and oversees a school attendance plan. Counsels students with excessive absences/tardies.

Provides "preventive" counseling for students referred by teachers before actual disciplinary measures are necessary.

Refers students to school guidance services when appropriate.

Initiates action for suspensions of students.

Confers with students, parents, and teachers concerning student problems, such as unauthorized absenteeism, classroom procedures, etc.

Develops and oversees the school positive behavioral support plan (PBS), including a PBS school team.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Two (2) years teaching experience. Strong experience in behavioral intervention and management techniques preferred.

Certifications & Licenses:

Florida Department of Education Professional Certificate in appropriate subject area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

In depth knowledge of behavioral intervention and management techniques and methodologies

Knowledge of federal, state and district legislation, policies and standards related to disciplinary program management

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong word processing and presentation software skills

Strong creative problem solving skills

Strong time management skills

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work collaboratively with parents, principals, and District staff

Ability to assist Principals and support staff in achieving expected outcomes

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Ability to facilitate meetings effectively

Ability to implement continuous improvement processes

Ability to collaborate with parents, principals, teachers, and school staff
