Join to apply for the I&E Technician (La Porte, Tx) Austin Industrial role at Austin Industries. Austin Industrial, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced I&E Technician based in La Porte, Texas. This maintenance position operates on a 9/80 schedule with occasional overtime and no per diem. Responsibilities
Layout, fabricate and install tubing and tub trays. Apply knowledge of mathematics to instrumentation, such as ratio and proportions, English-to-metric conversions, and related calculations. Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings; prepare job reports. Assemble and disassemble electronic process controls, pneumatic controls and hydraulic systems and components. Calibrate equipment using common calibration procedures; read, interpret, and apply procedures. Understand pH and redox principles and equipment needed to measure them; control pH and redox of liquids. Work with Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Law and electrical components (diodes, capacitors, etc.). Understand steam behavior and related properties; apply chemical and physical principles in instrumentation (density, specific gravity, boiling/melting points, etc.). Troubleshoot and check electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment. Understand fundamental instrumentation loops and the function of each component in diverse loop types. Understand common chemical plant process equipment (distillation columns, heat exchangers, boilers, turbines, compressors). Apply procedures for measuring pressure, level, flow, temperature, weight, density, heat flux, humidity and moisture. Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet state regulations. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education
– no minimum education requirements. Experience
