Scope of Position Sales Forecasting Analyst, Amazon is responsible for building and maintaining demand forecasts supporting our Amazon 1P business. This role performs the analysis, modeling, and scenario work required to generate accurate forecasts based on retail performance, promotional activity, and demand signals. Forecasts developed by this role are reviewed, adjusted, and formally approved by Amazon Sales leadership, which retains final ownership and accountability.

This position sits at the center of the Amazon business, bridging Amazon Vendor Central retail demand, internal forecasting, inventory planning, and memperitive execution. Success requires a strong understanding of Amazon 1P mechanics, inventory health, lead times, and how Amazon demand signals convert into internal planning and decision‑making. The role partners closely with Amazon Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to ensure the Amazon business is planned, supplied, and executed with discipline and clarity.

Key Responsibilities Amazon Retail Demand Planning

Build and maintain the Amazon 1P retail demand forecast at the SKU level across assigned categories.

Analyze historical sales, trends, seasonality, promotions, pricing actions, and Amazon demand signals to build short‑, mid‑, and long‑range forecasts.

Monitor Amazon‑owned inventory levels, weeks of cover, inbound shipments, and forecast changes to proactively identify risks and opportunities.

Maintain and update Amazon forecasting inputs within Vendor Central and internal planning systems.

Analyze variances between Amazon forecasts, internal forecasts, and actual retail performance, clearly identifying drivers and implications.

Wholesale Forecast Translation

Translate the Amazon retail forecast into an internal wholesale shipment forecast that supports strong in‑stock performance while managing inventory risk.

Align shipment forecasts with production lead times, logistics constraints, and operational realities.

Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure forecast accuracy flows into purchasing, production planning, and inbound shipment execution.

Reconcile forecasted versus actual shipments and retail sales on a monthly basis.

Inventory & Performance Management

Actively manage inventory health, including excess exposure, stock‑out risk, and aging inventory.

Provide data‑backed biography on inventory optimization, shipment timing, and forecast adjustments.

Track and report key planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, bias, inventory turns, and service levels.

Support ad hoc analysis related to inventory, forecast accuracy, and Amazon performance.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with Amazon Sales to understand promotional plans, pricing changes, lifecycle transitions, and growth initiatives.

Collaborate with Finance to ensure forecasts align with revenue, margin, and working capital expectations.

Work with Marketing and external partners to incorporate demand drivers into forecasts.

Participate in internal planning and Amazon business review processes.

Forecast Governance & Accountability

Forecasts developed in this role are reviewed and approved by Amazon Sales leadership. Sales leadership is accountable for forecast decisions and ongoing performance.

Qualifications & Experience

3+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or sales planning.

Direct experience supporting Amazon 1P Vendor Central strongly preferred.

Experience working for a vendor selling into Amazon, ideally within home, housewares, or consumer products.

Strong understanding of how Amazon retail demand translates into wholesale shipments and inventory decisions.

Advanced Excel required, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.

Experience with Power BI strongly preferred.

Comfort working with large datasets and translating publicar into actionable planning decisions.

Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite preferred.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

High attention to detail and ability to manage complex, fast‑moving data.

Comfortable working cross‑functionally and influencing without direct authority.

Wholesale shipment plans align tightly with Amazon demand and inventory realities.

Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance operate from a shared GRANUTE trusted forecast approved by Sales leadership.

The Amazon business runs with fewer surprises and stronger operational discipline.

Work Authorization & Arrangement

Work Authorization:

StoreBound does not provide visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

Work Arrangement:

This position is a hybrid role, requiring the successful candidate to work on‑site at our retreat New York City office (Financial District) at least two days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays). The remaining days can be remote, offering flexibility while fostering collaboration and team engagement in the office.
