Scheduler Senior – Orthopedic Surgery
The Scheduler is responsible for coordinating schedules and surgical add‑on scheduling requests for same‑day and next‑day add‑on procedures. The Senior Scheduler will work closely with Specialty Team Leaders, Charge Nurses, and Perioperative Nursing. The objective is to facilitate efficiency in the utilization of clinical staff and coordination of scheduled surgeries and add‑on surgeries throughout the day in a customer‑friendly manner. The Senior Scheduler will enter patient flow data to maintain the EPIC board, multitask the entire shift, answer phones, coordinate with physician offices, Pre‑op, and PACU staff, and ensure effective communication throughout the department.
Responsibilities
Speak with patients over the phone to schedule, remind and follow up on appointments.
Add, cancel, or make changes to appointments.
Prepare daily call sheets.
Perform patient intake, including the completion and filing of all necessary records.
Resolve appointment conflicts for staff and patients.
Produce and process schedules and reports as requested by leadership.
Adhere to basic standards of organizational policy/procedures by planning and coordinating resources.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma.
General working computer knowledge, including Word, Excel, and Internet.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to perform more than one task at a time and solve problems quickly.
1–3 years of experience in a related area.
Surgical and/or medical office experience.
Work Schedule : 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Friday
