Asphalt Paver Operator

Redstone Excavating is hiring for an Asphalt Paver Operator. The operator safely runs paving machines to spread and level hot asphalt for roads, parking lots, and driveways, ensuring smooth, even surfaces at the correct thickness. The role requires coordination with trucks and crew, performing daily equipment checks, and basic maintenance while working outdoors in varied conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Operate the asphalt paver including controlling screed, auger, hopper, and direction.

Maintain constant asphalt flow, align with dump trucks and adjust for even distribution.

Monitor grade, thickness, and smoothness, adjusting the screed to eliminate voids and meet specifications.

Perform pre‑shift safety checks, fluid checks, lubrication, and minor repairs.

Communicate with other crew members for efficient workflow.

Adhere to all safety procedures and ensure safe operation of heavy equipment.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Experience operating asphalt paving equipment.

Knowledge of paving techniques and materials.

Ability to read blueprints and use gauges/levels.

Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.

Physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather.

Basic mechanical aptitude for minor maintenance.
