Summary Works under the direction of the Director, Child Advocacy Program at Golisano Children's Hospital providing education through community outreach regarding mental health awareness and parenting education. Collaborates with community agencies/groups involved in mental illness prevention through conducting community classes, health fairs, and community outreach. Certified as Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Nurturing Parenting Facilitator. Provides ongoing mental health education to Lee Health staff. Participates in media requests regarding mental awareness topics.
Responsibilities
Provide mental health education through community outreach and classes.
Collaborate with community agencies to prevent mental illness.
Conduct health fairs and community outreach events.
Serve as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor and Nurturing Parenting Facilitator.
Provide ongoing mental health education to Lee Health staff.
Respond to media requests on mental health topics.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year in planning, assessing, and evaluating programs. Experience with media and public speaking preferred.
Certifications:
BLS required; Mental Health First Aid Instructor within 6 months of hire; Nurturing Parenting Curriculum certification within 3 months of hire.
License:
Valid Florida driver’s license required.
