Position: Hourly labor pool (as needed), non-benefited, preferably averaging at least 4 shifts per month.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8.5 hours (variable) between 7am-5pm; Saturday 7:30am-4:00pm.
Equipment: AlteaSiemens 1.5 scanner.
Overview The MRI Technologist in diagnostic center setting is responsible for performing MR exams on patients as requested by the referring physicians and must ensure safety in the MR environment before entering the magnetic field. Performs all MR imaging exams and procedures in accordance with RHS policy and procedures. Performs MR screening for all patients, patient preparation and explanation of exams, responds to patient questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process, IV insertions and contrast injections, and for completing all associated patient and equipment screening and technical documentation.
What you will do
Operates the magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes; produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures; prepares and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice.
Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed; positions the patient and observes the scanning process.
Screens patients for MRI safety prior to the procedure.
Assists the radiologist with procedure performance when required; obtains intravenous access and administers contrast media as directed per protocol; operates the power injector.
Evaluates the MR scan for technical quality, sequence of exposure and labels appropriately.
Schedules patients for procedures and assists with clerical functions; coordinates the screening and patient flow.
Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements; troubleshoots and ensures equipment functionality.
Qualifications
Experience: MRI experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
Radiologic Technologists – The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) Upon Hire (Required)
CPR/BLS Certification – American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
