CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – Westover Hills (CSRH‑WH) is a 150‑bed hospital serving the fastest growing area of San Antonio. The campus offers orthopedic and surgical services, ICU, women’s services, a newborn nursery, comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open‑heart surgery, vascular lab, sleep center, emergency services, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, and more. It also houses an Outpatient Imaging Center and three medical plazas, including the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.

Summary:

Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non‑critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under the direction of a physician with minimal supervision. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital.

Responsibilities

Meet OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

Perform emergency (Code Blue and White) response; airway management including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning; delivery of aerosolized drugs; ventilator management (setup and operation); oral hygiene; airway retaining device placement and maintenance; airway support device management including BiPAP and CPAP devices; oxygen delivery devices and therapeutic monitoring; chest film analysis; blood gas collection and analysis; EKG analysis; accurate and complete documentation; cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies; participate in CAP and JC surveys.

Act as Shift Leader or Team Leader.

Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management and monitoring (INO or HeO₂); pulmonary function testing; bronchoscopy assist; hemodynamic monitoring; waveform analysis; nocturnal SpO₂ evaluation (desaturation studies); polysomnography; transport duties.

Education & Skills

RT or RCP license in state of employment required.

BLS required.

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required.

Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required.

Experience

1–3 years of experience preferred.

Work Schedule 7PM – 7AM.
