Grocery Team Member (Stocker, Inventory, Floor Service, Customer Service) - Part Time This role supports the Grocery team by receiving, preparing, and stocking product, maintaining the grocery floor and displays, and selling products in support of Whole Foods Market standards. All duties comply with the store’s SOPs and core values, promote national and store programs, and adhere to health and safety regulations.

Base pay range $15.00/hr – $24.40/hr

Job Responsibilities

Ensure a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products.

Stocks and cleans grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen, and dairy cases.

Monitors and prevents spoilage and communicates waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisors.

Maintains back stock in good order.

Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.

Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.

Assists with periodic inventory checks.

Arrives to workplace on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.

Provides excellent customer service, addresses customer needs promptly, employs suggestive selling techniques, answers phones and pages courteously.

Maximizes sales potential through effective product prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.

Follows and ensures compliance with established procedures (Weights & Measures, health & sanitation, safe work practices).

Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment per WFM standards.

Performs opening, mid‑shift, and closing duties, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.

Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.

Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Learns basic knowledge of all products in the department.

Visually examines products for quality and freshness.

Reads labels and familiarizes oneself with various products.

Performs simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Communicates clearly and works well within a team.

Delivers information respectfully to teammates, customers, and vendors.

Meets customer‑service expectations in all interactions.

Follows directions and procedures; manages time effectively.

Passion for natural foods and WFM mission.

Strong work ethic in a fast‑paced environment with urgency.

Experience

No prior retail experience required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Must lift up to 50 pounds.

Stand/walk 6‑8 hours during an 8‑hour shift.

Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.

Perform bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.

May be exposed to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals.

Work at temperatures:

90 °F.

Can work in wet and cold environments.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

Additional Information New entry‑level Team Members who complete their first 90 days of employment and remain actively employed in an eligible role may be eligible for a base‑rate increase after their 90‑day anniversary.
