BluePearl Pet Hospital - Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician BluePearl Pet Hospital in vibrant Downtown Manhattan, NY, is seeking a passionate and skilled Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated Emergency during the week!

Pay:
$30.00 - $55.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials (see below).
Pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.
We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4‑hour minimum.
Mon‑Fri: 6 pm – 8 am –
+$4.50/hr
Sat & Sun: 8 am – 6 pm –
+$4.50/hr
Sat & Sun: 6 pm – 8 am –
+$8.00/hr
Responsibilities
Triage emergency cases at arrival, obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
Perform digital radiography using proper technique and patient positioning.
Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
Understand normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
Calculate medical math (including constant‑rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations.
Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
Mentor and train other co‑workers.
Demonstrate patience and empathy when addressing client concerns.
