Avatar Empowering Wellness is a leading provider of addiction treatment, co-occurring disorder treatment, and behavioral healthcare in New Jersey. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Clinician, based at our Residential Program in Ringwood, NJ. The Clinician will provide compassionate client-centered care, conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Responsibilities include facilitating individual and group counseling sessions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining detailed records to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Clinician will play a key role in guiding individuals on their journey to recovery and wellness.

Qualifications

Expertise in individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling

Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-based therapeutic approaches

Strong documentation, record-keeping, and assessment skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and communicate treatment plans clearly

Experience working in addiction, co-occurring disorders, or mental health care

Strong critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and active listening skills

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field

Relevant licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LAC, LSW or equivalent) in the state of New Jersey

Commitment to client-centered, evidence-based, and trauma-informed care

Experience working with diverse populations and age groups, including adolescents
