2nd Shift Maintenance Technician – Welch Packaging
Hourly - Full Time
Supports our production operations by ensuring the optimal performance of manufacturing equipment. In this hands‑on role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and repairing production machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial maintenance, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
Responsible for maintaining company‑owned machinery and equipment in proper working order
On‑call emergency repairs
Responsible for taking control of breakdowns
Execute a plan of continued improvement of machine safety and general housekeeping
Work with crews to complete all preventive maintenance
Work with machine operators to troubleshoot and determine root cause of mechanical issues
Respond quickly to maintenance requests and prioritize effectively
Work hand in hand with Maintenance Manager to resolve any accident‑waiting‑to‑happen forms
Work as a team to maintain organization and inventory of maintenance shop and tools
Requirements / Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Experience
Electrical certification preferred
Corrugated packaging industry experience a plus
Strong knowledge of mechanical machinery
Ability to use shop tools and equipment, drill press, shop grinders, welders, oxy‑acetylene torch
Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability with practical, mechanical and electrical aptitude
Must be able to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
Must be fully computer literate with Microsoft environment

Work Environment: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, office setting with long periods of sitting, occasional exposure to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and loud noise.
