Job Summary Work in collaboration with and under the direct and indirect supervision of a physician, using a mutually approved advanced practice registered nurse protocol agreement, to provide primary healthcare to students and eligible members of the University community in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and rules and regulations established by the State of Georgia. This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSAs are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non‑campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University.
This is a 10‑month, benefitted position.
Responsibilities
Participate in clinical research
Assist with the Health Education staff of Health Services with on‑campus health education programming activities
Participate in staff meetings and in staff committees, cooperates with peers and others, and maintains competency through continuing education as per Health Services policies
Provide advisory and educational services to the greater community
Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
Obtain complete, detailed and accurate histories; review patient records to develop comprehensive medical status reports; order laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for condition of patient
Perform physical examinations and record pertinent data in electronic medical record
Participate in the education and preceptorship of student learners and new staff members
Maintain professional affiliations
Provide in‑service programs for Health Services staff and other University personnel
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
Graduate of ANA approved Nurse Practitioner training program or equivalent requirements to meet state licensure
Other Required Qualifications
National certification through ANCC or NCC
Georgia State RN and NP licenses in good standing
CPR certification
Active DEA registration and prescribing privileges or eligible
Required Experience
One (1) year of post‑graduation experience in Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care or broad based Family Practice within past five years
Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of public health principles and practices as related to preventive health maintenance, contraceptive management, and management of acute and chronic gynecological and breast conditions in adolescent and older patients
Licensed as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner
Preferred Experience
Experience in a clinical setting regularly providing care to patients with contraceptive, gynecological, and breast care needs is preferred
IUD and Nexplanon placement and removal experience is preferred
Proposed Salary Commensurate with Experience
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
