This position requires living anywhere within approximately two hours of Greenville, SC (including neighboring areas such as Columbia and Anderson). The role is based in the Greenville, SC area and surrounding region.

What’s the role? As a Field Service Technician, you will work with a team that plays a vital role in Carl Zeiss Industrial Quality Solutions, LLC. You will install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate high‑tech machines at customer locations, support R&D engineering work, and assist production during assembly and setup.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate high‑tech machines at customer locations.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and knowledge.
Learn new skills on high‑tech CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
Perform necessary administrative paperwork accurately.
Be solutions‑oriented, working independently in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
Travel 90–100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
Do you qualify?
High school graduate or GED.
AS/BS in Electronics or Industrial Mechanics, or equivalent training/experience (e.g., Military Technical School or 4+ years related experience).
Prior experience with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
Microsoft operating system knowledge.
Capable of unassisted lifting up to 75 pounds.
Willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, including overtime.
Experience in an industrial production shop‑floor environment.
Valid driver’s license.
Excellent communication and customer‑service aptitude.
Nice to Haves
Experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
Experience with CMM installation and troubleshooting.
Compensation & Benefits The annual pay range for this position is $46,000 to $57,000. The role may be eligible for a performance bonus, and ZEISS offers robust benefits including medical, vision, dental, 401(k) matching, employee assistance programs, vacation, and sick pay.
