Duties And Responsibilities
Setup and operate our Doosan PUMA 1214, Toshiba 150, and Toshiba 200, all with live tooling.
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, models, routing instructions, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
Determine tooling requirements, setup procedures and control settings.
Set up CNC machine with setup blocks, fixtures, clamps, or any other necessary devices to receive and hold parts/components for safe machining operation.
Monitor and/or develop speed, feed, depth, or angle of cut during machining operations.
Loads and unloads parts/components from machine using overhead hoist/crane for heavy materials.
Enter program commands in machine controller or retrieve preprogrammed code.
Monitor machine to change cutting tools/inserts as required.
Measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications (.002 or potentially tighter tolerance) and GD&T.
Manually adjust machine controls to prevent out‑of‑tolerance machining.
Recommend production improvement methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to General Foreman.
Assist in solving technical challenges or work problems.
Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness of machine and work area daily.
Read and understand company policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned or required for this position.
Up to $10,000 sign‑on bonus – based on experience.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years CNC machining experience setting up and running Vertical Turning Centers (VTLs) (Doosan, Toshiba, etc.)
Must be able to set up VTLs with little to no supervision.
Experience with Mastercam programming and editing is a plus.
Experience with Fanuc controls preferred.
Experience working in a "job shop" preferred (low quantities/highly technical pieces).
Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds; experience operating overhead crane and hoists preferred.
Shop math skills.
