We seek Wind Turbine Technicians in Emporia, KS. Candidates will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components on wind farm sites, with travel up to 50% within Kansas. Essential Job Functions
Prioritize safety and quality in all tasks. Operate with both metric and imperial measurements. Complete detailed timecards and expense reports. Read and interpret technical journals, procedures, and regulations. Apply design and production principles to wind turbine maintenance. Problem‑solve equipment issues promptly. Diagnose and repair wiring, machines, and computer programs. Understand DC, AC, and electronic principles. Write reports, complete work orders, and track task progress. Present information clearly to managers, clients, and peers. Lead teams, train new employees, and produce reports as required. Follow internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. Pursue continuous professional development and maintain discipline knowledge. Work safely at all times and report all health and safety incidents. Perform additional duties as required. Required Qualifications
If entry‑level, provide proof of Wind Technician Certification from an accredited Wind Academy or equivalent Trade School. Travel up to 50% for in‑state site work, training, and other functions. Excellent electrical and mechanical skills. Knowledge of turbine‑related machinery and tools. Knowledge of circuit boards, electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software programming. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for effective local, state, or national security operations. Willing to learn and progress into stronger roles such as troubleshooting, commissioning, or lead technician on site. Experience with turbine technology and/or up‑tower on platforms welcomed, including Solar/Off‑shore experience. Physical Requirements
Lifting 40–100 lbs. Bending, twisting, and lifting overhead. Climbing a wind tower up to 400 ft up to three times daily. Work Environment / Environmental Factors
Variable weather conditions. Outdoor work. Climbing up to 400 feet in height. Additional Information
Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, manuals. Fluent English verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver’s license with fit‑to‑drive record and no more than two moving violations in the past three years. Pass a criminal background check (project/client dependent). Life at Tetra Tech
