Starting Pay $20.45/hr
Responsibilities
Assist the Supervisor in coordinating the daily responsibilities of the department, ensuring the Supervisor’s instructions are communicated to the team members and carried out timely and correctly.
Monitor all equipment to ensure it is working properly and notify the supervisor of any needed maintenance, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Physical & Technical Requirements This position involves standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, shoveling, climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet, bending, stretching, and reaching. Work may be performed in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
Must be able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.
Maintain a clean work area using soap and a high‑pressure hose.
Must be able to read and complete required logs.
Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co‑workers via two‑way radio.
May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
May be required to operate a frontend loader, manlift, or forklift and will be required to obtain certification.
This position requires documented work experience in multiple areas of a rendering facility.
Health & Safety The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Experience Requirement Need to have at least 6 months of experience with a single employer in the past 12 months.
Additional Requirements Must be able to sit for long periods of time spending tedious hours observing a computer screen and have the ability to distinguish/R colors of flashing lights.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Rehire Criteria Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
Rehire rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
