Sigvaris is currently looking for a Production Lead to join our team in Holland, MI. As a leading compression solution provider, we manufacture products that help people feel their best. Under the general direction of the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead is responsible for providing direction, training and guidance to employees in their shift/department to ensure all tasks involved in the production of various garments are completed within established guidelines. 1st shift: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (No Sunday overtime) Duties and Responsibilities
Organizes and communicates shift/department goals to all employees and resolves any issues related to the completion of expected goals. Operates hand trucks/pallet jacks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas. Maintains inventory of work in process/raw material items as indicated by the ERP system or as directed by management. Trains new employees on proper methods of running automatic sewing machines. Ensures fulfillment of all documentation needed for training, training matrix, and suitable maintenance. Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Operations Supervisor. Reads work orders/production schedules to determine specifications. Monitors machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread or machine malfunctions. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. Maintains, cleans, and lubricates machines. Complies with all OSHA and company safety rules. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels and managing the cycle counts in the designated area. Participates and implements continuous improvement activities in the facility. Implements/Sustains the 5S+ Safety program in the designated area. Fosters positive morale among staff, promotes open communication with all departments, and helps create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment. Interacts with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships. Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary. Demonstrates effective communication methods. Director of Operations and/or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions. Responds quickly to all oral and written communications. Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers. Checks and responds to voicemail messages in a timely manner. Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer. Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Sigvaris policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, and federal, state and local laws. Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the Sigvaris Quality System and Quality Policy. Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow. Education and Work Experience
A high school diploma and/or equivalent in education and experience. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing with prior leadership experience. Physical Requirements
Occasionally required to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb. Regularly required to lift over 50 pounds. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; finger dexterity and hand coordination is required. The ability to use hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble small and large objects is required. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust or focus.
