Construction Manager – Base Building (Data Center & Industrial Facilities) About This Role:

Our client is at the forefront of expanding next-generation hyperscale AI data center infrastructure across the United States. This is a rare opportunity for motivated construction professionals to lead large-scale, technically complex projects that will define the next era of digital and AI capability.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Oversee construction of building shells and primary mechanical systems for large-scale data centers and industrial facilities.

Base Building Management: Direct development of roofs, exterior walls, and critical infrastructure systems, ensuring compliance with codes and alignment with project objectives.

Site Inspections & Quality Assurance: Conduct site walks to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and verify workmanship quality.

Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between internal teams, contractors, and vendors to maintain alignment and resolve challenges.

Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contractor and vendor agreements to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and performance requirements.

Budget & Schedule Oversight: Track budgets and timelines proactively, identifying risks early and implementing mitigation plans.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, design, and operations teams to ensure seamless project integration and handoff.

Progress Reporting: Deliver regular project updates and milestone reports to key stakeholders.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

What You’ll Bring:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience managing large-scale base building projects (data centers, industrial, or commercial).

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of structural, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Project Management Tools: Proficiency with construction management platforms (e.g., Procore, Primavera).

Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.

Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 30% to support multi-site operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree or certifications in construction management or related disciplines.

Experience with hyperscale or mission-critical facility builds.

Familiarity with sustainable or lean construction practices.

Strong understanding of national and state building codes.

Experience managing projects exceeding $100M in value.

Background working with complex electrical or mechanical systems.
