Associate II – Broking‑Surety
Join Guy Carpenter as an Associate II – Broking‑Surety. This role offers flexibility with locations in Edina, Minnesota; Morristown, New Jersey; or New York City, New York. It follows a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite at the office. Key Responsibilities
Respond independently to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly to ensure client satisfaction. Oversee the timely production of appropriate account/program documents and follow‑up on policy administration. Assist with identifying and pursuing potential opportunities to win new clients and projects. Independently handle assignments and may assist more senior‑level brokers in serving larger or more complex clients. Establish and maintain strong relationships with insurers/reinsurers, clients, and colleagues to provide complex solutions. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of coverage lines, markets, and specialized products to better serve clients. Check contract documents and bond forms, as well as banking terms and conditions. Check and educate clients on the terms and conditions of the General Agreement of Indemnity required to be executed to support all surety transactions. Check financial statements for all industries, applying specific knowledge of each industry’s unique financial metrics. Requirements
Broad knowledge of Surety. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 3–10 years of Surety experience. AFSB designation holder. Background in reinsurance (underwriting, ceded re, or brokering). Proven expertise in Reinsurance or Surety sectors. Benefits and Why Join

Office‑based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person. The applicable base salary range for this role is $104,500 to $228,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives. We also offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs as well as employee assistance programs.
