Job Description We are seeking a sales and use tax professional to join our fast‑paced, collaborative tax department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a self‑starter, a problem solver, willing to learn, and exercises independent judgment while enjoying teamwork. Position Summary This Tax Analyst is primarily responsible for consumer use tax compliance and timely, accurate preparation of monthly use tax filings. Other responsibilities include audit support, account reconciliation, transaction reviews, tax research, process improvements, tax notice resolution, tax exemption reviews, and special projects.

Functions

Prepare sales and use tax returns and payment requests accurately and on schedule.

File all assigned returns promptly.

Record monthly use‑tax accruals and other month‑end journal entries.

Prepare non‑income tax returns (beverage taxes, unclaimed property, business licenses, etc.).

Reconcile monthly tax accounts.

Review monthly expense and fixed‑asset purchases for correct tax treatment.

Review new inventory items for proper tax treatment.

Support management in state and local audits with information gathering, data analysis, and implementation of audit‑related changes.

Research and interpret relevant transactional tax law.

Produce other transactional tax reports as assigned.

Respond timely to tax notices as assigned.

Communicate effectively with business personnel to understand transactions and ensure accurate reporting.

Stay current on tax legislation and rate changes.

Maintain documentation per SOX requirements.

Collaborate with finance, CFOs, and accounting personnel at operating facilities.

Complete additional functions and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred).

Minimum of 2 years transaction‑tax experience.

Other Criteria

Demonstrated analytical and computer skills.

Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience with Vertex Tax Compliance software is a plus.

Experience with SAP is a plus.

Self‑motivated and innovative with the ability to thrive under pressure and work flexible hours as needed.

Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects in a changing environment.

Strong integrity and business ethics.

Compensation $70,000 – $78,000 plus bonus.
