This firm is growing their Survey team in New York & is looking for a Survey Crew Chief to join their team. This person will lead a team of surveyors in conducting field surveys for various projects and will involve overseeing the collection of accurate data, ensuring the safety and efficiency of field operations, and maintaining high standards of quality in all survey activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a survey crew in the field.
Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys.
Operate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
Ensure the accuracy and precision of survey data.
Prepare and review field notes, sketches, and reports.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project requirements.
Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
Train and mentor junior surveyors.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Proficiency in using survey equipment and software.
Strong understanding of survey principles, methods, and techniques.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Valid driver's license.
