Role Overview We are looking for a Bakery Clerk to create outstanding customer experiences, maintain a safe and clean environment, assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, and demonstrate Kne's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment.
Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
Inform customers of bakery specials and recommend items to meet their needs.
Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
Use all equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens, etc.) according to company guidelines.
Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking/baking instructions.
Measure, mix, and prepare ingredients per recipe, using various kitchen utensils.
Properly label, pack, and inventory merchandise.
Check product quality for freshness and review “sell by” dates.
Maintain proper temperatures in cases, coolers, and logs.
Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
Understand the store layout to locate products requested by customers.
Stay current with seasonal and special ads.
Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
Promote trust and respect among associates.
Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions.
Display a positive attitude.
Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying relevant parties of repairs needed.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents, safety risks, or illegal activity.
Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Outstanding customer service skills.
Desire to learn about food production and basic cooking techniques.
Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Good basic math skills.
Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.
