We are seeking a
VP Controller
to lead the accounting function for a private equity–backed manufacturing company. Reporting to the CFO, this role will oversee all accounting operations and play a key role in professionalizing the organization post‑acquisition. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, technically strong accounting leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments.
Base pay range: $200,000 – $225,000 per year
Key Responsibilities
Lead the corporate and plant accounting team of 10 across GL, AP/AR, payroll, and close.
Own the monthly close and reporting cadence for executive leadership and PE stakeholders.
Oversee cost accounting, inventory, job costing, and commodities valuation.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls and audit‑ready processes.
Drive working capital optimization and partner with operations on costing and inventory.
Standardize accounting policies and reporting across multi‑site operations.
Lead process improvements, system integrations, and automation.
Provide technical accounting leadership for M&A, integrations, and complex transactions.
Partner with the CFO and PE sponsors on diligence and post‑close execution.
Manage audits, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
10+ years of manufacturing accounting experience, including cost accounting and inventory.
Background in private equity or post‑acquisition environments strongly preferred.
M&A and integration experience.
Strong GAAP, controls, and systems expertise (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
Proven leader of accounting teams.
Must be based in metro Atlanta; 25‑30% travel to plant sites required.
