The Financial Analyst will facilitate the extraction of information and the generation of detailed analytics to address complicated strategic issues in the increasingly complex and changing legal industry. The Analyst is expected to contribute across all aspects of the reporting spectrum, including report creation, development, quality assurance and delivery. A strong candidate will be highly analytical, extremely detail oriented, and have a proven track record of streamlining reporting processes.

Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Assist in the production of financial analyses (e.g., department, practice, office, timekeeper, client) using both established and new, creative approaches

Assist in the Firm’s annual budget process, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting performance against plan

Partner with key stakeholders within the Firm to design, develop, implement and maintain new reporting functionality and value-added analytics, using the various business intelligence tools at their disposal

Collaborate with other departments and teams across the Firm by delivering financial insights, facilitating regular meetings and follow‑ups, and building and maintaining strong cross‑functional relationships to support strategic and operational goals

Identify opportunities to automate reports and processes to drive efficiency gains within the Firm

Develop an understanding of the Firm’s departments, practice groups and clients to help develop strategic planning initiatives

Contribute to the preparation of various presentations for executive leadership, including strategic business outlooks that align with the overall Firm strategy

Focus on fostering teamwork and collaboration to promote new ideas and introduce streamlined processes to meet deadlines and drive projects to completion

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

A minimum of 1-4 years of financial analysis experience; prior work in banking, financial services, or law firms preferred

Sophisticated use of Excel (vertical lookups, macros, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint

High level attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting, ability to effectively convey financial information

Strong quantitative skills, ability to analyze complex, multi-faceted problems and offer solutions

Ability to set priorities and manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Ability to identify and analyze multi-faceted problems and recommend solutions

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse groups, build relationships, and serve as a business partner to leadership and departments

This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3× per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation range for this position is $75,000–$105,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
