Diamond Turning Technician 2nd Shift (HRF013) Join IDEX Corporation as a Diamond Turning Technician on the 2nd shift. The role focuses on the set‑up, programming, and safe operation of a Single Point Diamond Turning machine, development of new processes, and collaboration across departments to improve efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Set up, program, and safely operate a Single Point Diamond Turning machine following established instructions.

Prepare SPDT programs for new processes and collaborate with team to develop them.

Work closely with other departments to improve efficiency and throughput.

Consult with the technical team on manufacturing methods, fixturing needs, and inspection criteria.

Perform routine preventative maintenance on the SPDT machine.

Inspect optical components for compliance with written specifications and work with Quality Assurance on metrics and testing.

Document processes and events.

Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.

Safety

Maintain safety for all employees in operations.

Initiate and maintain proper safety and fire prevention equipment per company policies.

Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to Micro‑LAM policies.

Follow established safety procedures and techniques including lifting.

Correct unsafe conditions and report any uncorrectable conditions to management and/or the safety committee.

When the machine door is open, operator must wear safety glasses.

Physical Requirements

Moderate walking, standing, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.

Required Skills & Experience

3‑5 years experience in Single Point Diamond Turning programming & machining or CNC manufacturing and programming.

Metrology experience with standard measuring equipment, profilometer, interferometer, etc.

Proficiency in MS Office, MS Outlook, and CNC programming.

Experience running CNC or optic‑generating machines (both preferred).

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to troubleshoot G‑code and adjust on machine to correct surfaces.

Advanced math skills.

Strong attention to detail and continuous process improvement focus.

Ability to read and understand optical and traditional blueprints.

Excellent decision‑making, leadership, and time‑management skills.

Education High School Diploma or GED.

Pay Range $24 – $34 per hour based on level of competency, plus a 10 % shift differential.
