In this role, Gallery Monitors will provide information to visitors, safeguard and monitor exhibited artwork and assist with a variety of gallery activities.**The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:****Duties and Responsibilities:*** Monitor gallery space to ensure safety and security of artworks.* Maintains cleanliness of the gallery space.* Greet and assist visitors, provide information about the exhibited artworks and artists.* Answer questions and engage with visitors in a friendly and professional manner.* Assists in the preparation of exhibits; checks in faculty and student artwork.* Conducts research on artists and exhibitions.* Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, taking messages and answering phones.* May assist with social media.* Other duties as assigned.**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*** Must be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and the general public.* Must be reliable, punctual and able to follow through on assignments.* Must be able to work independently and as a team.* Must be detail orientated.* Must have a general interest in Gallery Management.**Education and Experience****Education and Experience:*** Must be enrolled at Ringling College of Art and Design.* Previous customer service experience desirable.* Microsoft Word and Excel experience desirable* Social Media, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator a plus.*Ringling College of Art and Design is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
