About the Role
KONGSBERG Discovery is moving into
Horten Horizon , our new office and factory in Horten. The facility is 44,000 sqm, BREEAM Very Good-certified and Energy Class A, and will support around 1,000 employees and the manufacturing of technology used for the discovery of ocean space.
We are now looking for a
Facility Manager
to establish and lead a new facility management team and build a world-class operation for our new site. This role is central to ensuring a safe, efficient, and sustainable work environment for employees and visitors. The position is a people leadership and operational management role, where results are delivered through structure, priorities, and strong execution through others.
You will work closely with key internal stakeholders, service providers, property owners and Kongsberg Eiendom AS, and collaborate tightly with our manufacturing maintenance function.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of all buildings and facilities, coordinating with service providers, the property owners, and Kongsberg Eiendom AS
Manage contracts and vendor relationships for cleaning, maintenance, catering, and other facility services
Ensure compliance with HSE and environmental requirements, including ISO 14001, and drive workplace safety, ergonomics, and sustainability initiatives
Own facility budgets, procurement, and cost optimization, using data to support prioritization and investment decisions
Ensure meeting room infrastructure (IT/AV) is functional and supported
Coordinate office moves, space planning, and continuous workplace improvements
Monitor and follow up energy deliveries to the facilities

Comfortable using data and KPIs to run operations and support investment decisions
Experience & Education
Experience from facility management, property operations, contract/vendor management, or similar operational roles
Experience with people leadership is strongly preferred (or clear motivation and readiness to take on leadership responsibility)
Solid understanding of budgeting and financial follow-up in operational environments
Sufficient technical understanding of building systems to communicate effectively and make informed priorities (not expected to be a technical specialist)
Background from construction, property, or industrial/manufacturing environments is an advantage
General IT competence
Fluent in Norwegian and English, written and spoken
Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent education (preferred, not required)
