Job Qualifications Entry-level position. Some experience in outside construction and communication line construction would be helpful.
Job Knowledge & Skills
Background in home construction/remodeling.
Experience with bucket trucks.
Experience with trenching/plowing equipment.
Major Job Tasks
Understand basic light transmission concepts, fiber handling guidelines, and fiber documentation.
Perform basic fiber optic fusion/mechanical splicing.
Use basic fiberoptic tools, including light meters, fiber scopes, live fiber identifiers, and locators.
Safely use ladders, bucket trucks and plows.
Participate in the fiber technician on-call rotation.
Utilize mapping software and account lookup tools for troubleshooting and documenting work performed.
Communicate professionally and courteously on-site and off-site.
Perform construction related duties including buried drops, aerial drops, and drop pole transfers.
Preserve confidentiality of company issues when relating to staff, customers, and general public.
Support the Bylaws, guidelines, policies, and philosophies of the company at all times.
Support the Mission Statement and Core Values at all times.

The Fiber Optic Technician I shall be required to perform any other duties assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of OzarksGo.
External Relationships
Subscribers – support and assist subscribers to access the network.
To be a team player and maintain good relations in all contacts with the general public.
Other Requirements
Must be able to operate all equipment normally found in an office environment.
Must have a valid driver's license without violation that would prohibit insurability.
Must have general PC abilities including Microsoft Office and tablet operating skills.
Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL within a year of start date.
Working Conditions: Must work in inclement weather. Normal office/field conditions. Some irregular hours may be required. Frequent daytime travel across the service territory for installation inspection and subscriber and landowner issues. Occasional overnight travel may be required. After an offer of employment has been made, a physical examination is required which will include drug testing.
Physical Requirements
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; rarely lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The position requires the ability to bend, stoop, or stand as necessary. Visual and audio acuity is an essential function.
