Scrum Manager – Body Controls, Authentication and Access Join General Motors as a Scrum Manager in the Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls (VMEC) Body Controls Secure Vehicle Access Agile Release Train (ART). This role focuses on developing and maintaining the software for vehicle access and authentication across GM’s electric, internal combustion, and autonomous vehicle portfolios.

Location & Work Arrangement:

Hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in office. (Location: Warren, MI)

What You’ll Do:

Hands‑on software development (C, Embedded C, C++)

Subject Matter Expert for Scrum Team’s content

Participate in Program Increment Planning, Iteration Retrospectives, ART Inspection and Adapt sessions, SM/ART Synchronizations

Collaborate with stakeholders, System Architects, Engineers & Technical Specialists on enablers and dependencies

Maintain and prioritize the scrum team’s product backlog and ensure visibility

Work with Scrum Team Leader on capacity planning

Translate product strategy into user stories, acceptance criteria, enabling BDD & TDD

Guide system demonstration strategy and validation/testing up to End User Acceptance

Ensure stories meet DoD and acceptance criteria

Provide guidance & coaching to team members

Other related duties as assigned

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Hands‑on development experience with C, C++

Behavior‑Driven Development (BDD) and Test‑Driven Development (TDD) experience

Experience delivering projects from conception to production

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical or related engineering discipline

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with autonomy

Strong prioritization and partnership skills within ART

Scaled Agile or Agile Software Development experience

Understanding of the Vehicle Development Process

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

High integrity and self‑directed initiative

Customer‑centric innovative thinking

In‑depth knowledge of algorithm/software development and calibration of vehicle mechatronic embedded controls

Strong understanding of major automotive systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Vehicle Access Security

Experience with microcontrollers

Plant modeling and analysis tools, MIL/SIL/HIL testing

Strong development expertise in dynamic system modeling and control theory

Knowledge of CAN, LIN, or Ethernet communication protocols

Experience with JIRA and Git ecosystem

DFSS Black Belt
