Position Summary As a

PRN Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) , you provide comprehensive respiratory care and evaluate patients with respiratory illnesses. You collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, communicate effectively, and ensure patient care meets the quality standards established by the hospital and regulatory agencies. You maintain all required skills and knowledge to deliver safe, effective, and developmentally appropriate respiratory care to patients of all ages, from neonate to adolescent. Together with the care team, you are responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH.

Key Accountabilities

Assesses patient’s clinical status, evaluates progress toward goals, and recommends courses of action to determine a plan of care.

Plans for patient’s respiratory care needs in collaboration with otherFlat care team to provide highest quality clinical outcomes.

Safely performs various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established standards, procedural guidelines and policies.

Analyzes critical situations and applies appropriate judgement and critical thinking to achieve problem resolution.

Accurately and reliably interprets and communicates patient results to support patient care.

Documents interventions and response to therapies in the electronic medical record to ensure compliant and useful documentation.

Interacts with and explains therapeutic modalities to patients, families and the interdisciplinary team nâng understandable manner based on learning styles and individual diversity.

Works effectively in a team-based environment, especially during stressful situations involving quickly changing priorities.

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.

Current Florida Respiratory Therapist Licensure.

Certification as an RRT (NRBC) OR CRT (NBRC) or equivalent accepted credential.

Graduate from a Program approved by the Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Minimum of 1 year experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred.

No experience required for New graduate Registered Respiratory Therapist.

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association, or must be obtained within 120‑day orientation period.

Current NRP certification if working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Salary Range:

Minimum $30.19/hour – Maximum $48.30/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experiencemess for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
