Responsibilities
Provide superior customer service and patient care by collaborating with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and PCRs.
Promote “Greet, Ask, and Thank” and H‑E‑B telephone strategies; direct calls to the appropriate partner.
Receive written prescriptions, verify demographic and profile information, process prescriptions and refill numbers into RXEVO.
Generate prescription‑related paperwork; file and retrieve prescriptions in the will‑call area.
Use RXEVO at the POS; ensure procedures are followed to deliver prescriptions to correct patients.
Direct customers to the counseling window for pharmacist consultation.
Process customer transactions at register and obtain/return tills from bookkeeping.
Maintain manual signature capture receipts and scan into RXEVO in a timely fashion.
Properly process and clear prepaid prescriptions.
Ensure all prescription deliveries are finalized; print RX delivery ledger daily.
Complete contact patient queue.
File and maintain prescription hard copies.
Assist technicians and pharmacists to ensure complete, efficient production for the shift.
Participate in/assist with Rx screening events, flu shot scheduling, immunization scheduling, and MTM events.
Check in/assist customers receiving vaccines using vaccine manager (CVM) or other professional services apps.
May participate in other professional services activities.
Inventory Management
Receive OTC inventory; verify deliveries against invoices; contact warehouse or vendor if inventory is short.
Stage OTC inventory; break out into stocking sections, including front‑of‑pharmacy items.
Comply with Return to Stock SOP to locate prescriptions via inventory management queue.
Ensure caps, vials, bags, etc., are correctly stocked.
Record fridge and freezer temperature logs.
Compliance / Sanitation
Comply with HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality of PHI.
Comply with TSBP rules and H‑E‑B SOPs to provide counseling on prescriptions.
Comply with SOP for processing PSE transactions; use manual process only if electronic system unavailable.
Comply with Central Fill check‑in procedures.
Ensure department and work area comply with presentation, organization, sanitation, and maintenance guidelines.
Remove trash from department; comply with trash compactor processes.
Required Background
Minimum age 18 (mandatory).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in retail; pharmacy experience a plus.
Experience in a fast‑paced environment.
Completion of all required training and certification (PCR, RXEVO, HIPAA, FWA, MethGuard, diversity, ACR, H‑E‑B screener, company orientation).
Skills & Attributes
Working knowledge of pharmacy‑related tasks, RXEVO system, register procedures, and H‑E‑B pharmacy SOPs.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Mathematical skills (including calculating measurements).
PC skills, including MS Office and H‑E‑B software.
Cash‑handling skills.
Ability to maintain composure in high‑stress situations.
Strong telephone etiquette.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus.
Ability to work in a team environment and with little supervision.
Willingness to cross‑train.
Physical and Working Conditions
Function in a fast‑paced, retail, office environment.
Work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
Regularly lift 30 lbs or more.
Require close vision and color vision.
Maintain H‑E‑B Rx screener status, including required recertification.
