Instrumentation Coordinator – New Albany The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Responsibilities An Instrumentation Coordinator works to prepare, sterilize, install, assemble, and clean all clinic or healthcare equipment required for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. The coordinator ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections. This position guarantees that sterilized, appropriately functioning medical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered aseptically. The coordinator serves as a clinical liaison between the operating rooms and the CSS offsite location to track and allocate sterilized instrumentation across the enterprise. The role also includes procuring and standardizing instrument trays across the enterprise. The coordinator works 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites across the health system, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University Hospital East, and all ambulatory sites.

Required Qualifications High school graduate or possess a GED. At least one year of experience as an instrument processor or Surgical Technologist. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification issued through the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification issued through the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire, or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
