RN - Pre‑Op at Piedmont
Overview The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
Responsibilities Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. Demonstrate professional growth and accountability within the organization’s policies and procedures. Coordinate patient care activities and maintain standards of practice.
Qualifications Education
Graduate from a nursing program (Required)
Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
Work Experience
No experience required; New Graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required)
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting (Preferred)
1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure (Current license in Georgia, required)
BCLS – Basic Life Support (Required)
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Advanced certification in the field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Addendum
Cardiac Tele: ACLS Certification – complete within 6 months of start date (Required)
Critical Care: ACLS Certification – complete within 6 months of start date (Required)
Dialysis: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) (Preferred)
Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS Certification – complete within 6 months of start date (Required)
Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Required upon hire)
Pediatrics: PALS Certification – required at Piedmont Columbus Hospital; PEARS or PALS Certification – required at Piedmont Athens Hospital (Required within 6 months)
Surgical Services: Pre‑Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides pediatric care (Required within 6 months)
Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery‑ACLS Certification, NRP, AWHONN, etc. (Required within 6 months)
