Job Responsibilities The mission of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind (SCCB), established in 1966, is to provide quality individualized vocational rehabilitation services, independent living services, and prevention‑of‑blindness services to South Carolinians who are blind or have low vision, leading to competitive employment and social and economic independence. Our Finance Department is arranged into teams that provide the following major functions: accounting, budget and grants, and procurement. The accounting team manages the receipt of income and payment of bills and invoices in compliance with Uniform Guidance and the Procurement Code. We are currently accepting applications for an Accounts Payable/Receivable Analyst to play a vital role in our finance department. Under the general supervision of the Finance Director, this person will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable transactions, verifying financial documentation, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Accounts Payable Processing: Processes accounts payable transactions, ensuring proper documentation is attached and appropriate funding stream has been assigned.

Vendor Communication: Respond to vendor inquiries about invoice payments and manage the Accounting Inbox efficiently.

Error Resolution: Resolve any discrepancies in accounts payable transactions, including those rejected by the Comptroller General's Office.

Account Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations to verify all payments have been issued accurately.

Backup Support: Serve as a backup to the Accounts Payable Lead for handling error files, report processing, and purchase order processing.

Financial Reporting: Assist with account analyses, year‑end closing packages, aging payables, aging receivables, and other necessary reports.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as required to support the finance department.

Minimum And Additional Requirements A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the required work experience.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, budgeting or financial management; knowledge of state governmental fiscal accounting processes; knowledge of SCEIS financial system; knowledge of state and federal regulations and laws applicable to SC Commission for the Blind; and ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and reports. SCEIS Financial experience.
