Tier 1 Supplemental Staffing RNs provide support to the organization by floating to multiple units and/or areas within the VCU Health System (VCUHS). This flex pool includes Registered Nurses who work within inpatient areas for adults and/or pediatrics. The flex pool provides 24/7 support to VCUHS inpatient units, procedural areas, peri‑operative and other specialties. Reassignment may occur in առ4‑hour blocks, and may include an opportunity to float to other VCUHS facilities.

Clinical Nurse II Responsibilities Mastery of clinical skills is demonstrated and applied to a specific patient population. The role supports the health‑care team in preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, and providing comfort. It recognizes changes in patient situations and intervenes appropriately, mobilizes resources to meet individualized needs, provides direction and education, and assumes consumer‑team leadership at the_rx level. Ansprechpartner anesthesia delivers accurate, age‑specific care to patients or groups based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. Nurse administers prescribed medications safely, identifying incompatibilities or interactions.

It delivers and accurately documents direct, age‑specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. Nurse safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities or interactions.

Performance Expectation: Pertains to staff in licensed Nursing positions ONLY Employee must complete 15 contact hours of Continuing Nursing Education during this evaluation cycle. Effective July 2012: CN‑III must complete 20 contact hours; failure to achieve the required number of contact hours will result in the employee being ineligible to receive an overall performance rating above “Fully Meets”.

Performance Expectation: Nursing Process The Clinical Nurse II demonstrates competent use of the nursing process as a problem‑solving model in performance of job duties. Focuses assessment on target areas most productive for a given patient population or situation. Recognizes subtle changes in clinical situations and evaluates and appropriately alters the plan of care. Consistently makes sound clinical decisions, prioritizes patient care, and initiates discharge care planning in assigned patients, actively coordinating multidisciplinary services.

The Clinical Nurse III demonstrates competent use of the nursing process as a problem‑solving model. Synthesizes knowledge and experience to anticipate and plan to meet patient and family needs, taking a proactive role in implementing multidisciplinary care planning for a specific patient population.

Performance Expectation: Nurse‑Patient Relationship The Clinical Nurse II develops and情况下 maintains a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship throughout the health‑care continuum. Demonstrates effective communication styles based on individual patient/family needs, identifies factors affecting comfort, individualizes approaches, seeks consultation as necessary, assesses readiness and involves patient/family in planning and implementation, and mobilizes resources promptly.

The[src] Clinical Nurse III develops and maintains a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship throughout the continuum. It respects patient rights and adapts communication styles, anticipates factors affecting comfort, adjusts interventions accordingly, assists families to gain control, facilitates participation in recovery, consistently employs a holistic, non‑judgmental approach, and challenges situations to promote positive outcomes.

Performance Expectation: Education The Clinical Nurse II commits to meeting the learning needs of patients and families. Acc indexently assesses readiness to learn, organizes and executes individualized teaching plans, evaluates understanding, modifies approaches, and assists team members in developing their clinical skills.

The Clinical Nurse III commits to meeting learning needs using varied teaching strategies, seeks challenging teaching opportunities, assumes responsibility for identifying staff learning needs, and develops, implements and evaluates formal and informal educational plans for patients and staff.

Performance Expectation: Leadership/Collaboration & Professional Development The Clinical Nurse II respects peers, collaborates effectively with other disciplines, participates as an effective team member, and formulates integrated approaches. It participates in unit activities that improve patient care or administrative systems, utilizes resources to maintain evidence‑based knowledge, locates evidence mathematical question related to nursing care, shares findings, initiates problem‑resolution steps based on best evidence, coordinates the team, and consistently applies effective communication, feedback and conflict resolution skills.

The Clinical Nurse III respects peers, leads or participates in unit or division activities to improve patient care, maintains current practice in its specialty area, assists others in translating and applying knowledge, evaluates practice based on evidence, implements problem‑resolution steps, shares relevant evidence, contributes to guideline and policy development, fosters collaborative relationships, solves conflicts, and articulates professional practice goals and achievements.

Performance Expectation: Performs Other Duties & Participates in Special Projects The Clinical Nurse II readily volunteers for or participates in special projects that support the VCUHS mission. The Clinical Nurse III provides assistance, accepts alternate assignments, initiates and delegates as required, and fosters team dynamics and emotional stability. Education / Training REQUIRED Clin II, Clin III Diploma or Associates Degree from an accredited professional nursing program recognized or approved by the state Board of Nursing.

All registered nurses lacking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) must enroll in an approved RN‑to‑BSN program within two years of start date and complete it within five years, unless grandfathered.

Education / Training PREFERRED Clin II, Clin III Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program.

Clin III: Certification in a specialty area.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire Clin II, Clin III: Current RN licensure in Virginia or an eligible compact state.

Experience REQUIRED Clin II: 12 to 24 months RN experience.

Clin III: 3 years Mong instruments clinical experience.

Clin II, Clin III: Academic health‑care experience and experience with a similar patient population in an acute‑care setting or related area.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Follows documentedatschapp provider orders, practices within Virginia nursing regulations, follows ANA Code (or equivalent) and VCUHS policies, works all shifts including weekends and holidays, participates in shift rotation and schedules coordinated with Nurse Manager, and meets necessary shift adjustments to serve unit requirements.

Physical Requirements Lifting 0‑50 lbs. Exposure to hazardous and infectious substances. Activities: prolonged standing and sitting, frequent bending, walking, climbing steps, ladder, reaching overhead, repetitive motions. Mental/Sensory: strong recall, reasoning, problem‑solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking. Emotional: fast‑pace environment, steady pace, ability to handle multiple priorities, frequent patient interactions, noisy environment.
