Mars Petcare- Packaging Operator- Columbus, Ohio
Shift: 3rd Shift (7pm- 7:30am) 2.2.3 schedule
Hourly Rate: $26.87/hour + Shift Premium: $1.50/hour
There are two (2) openings
Description of the Role: The Packaging Operator is a multi‑skilled associate responsible for maximizing the efficiency of packing lines and identifying and implementing continuous improvement while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
What are we looking for? Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and email communication
Physical Requirements:
Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipmentALTER and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical degree or certification
2+ years’ experience in manufacturing
Experience with packaging equipment
What will be your key responsibilities? Maintain optimal packaging line efficiency and promptly escalate any deviations from standards or schedules.
Support peers in achieving the highest safety, quality, and efficiency standards throughout the packing hall.
Take responsibility for achieving the required GMP/GHP packaging scores.
Ensure cleaning regimes are consistently upheld and executed to the highest standards.
Actively participate in operational processes that drive business performance and continuous improvements.
Perform additional tasks and ad hoc requests as needed.
