Summary Along with the Associate Director of Inpatient Pharmacy Operations, assumes responsibility for providing leadership for acute care services provided by the department. Provides leadership for support staff in acute care areas. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.

Qualifications

Current/active Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), OR possess an Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) Certification from the National Healthcareer Association. Maintains certification throughout the course of employment.

Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy, OR obtains within 90 days of hire. Maintains registration throughout the course of employment.

Minimum of five (5) years' practice experience in a hospital with unit dose, IV admixture and formal clinical services.

Advanced knowledge of inpatient service programs including unit dose, IV admixture, and automated dispensing systems.

Demonstrated Pharmacy computer knowledge Past experience working with patients and the public. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as management and leadership skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred

Minimum of two years' supervisory experience in hospital pharmacy practice.

Physical Requirements

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.

Requires some exposure to biohazardous chemicals.
